Are you eating healthily? Why not try a treatment with ... raspberries!

EAT ME raspberry

They are no longer considered a summer fruit. But whether you eat them in July or January: raspberries still give you that summery feeling. Delicious for munching on, on the go. There is a good reason for that: the red-pink raspberry with its velvety soft skin is a real vitamin C bomb. But the fruit offers lots of other possibilities. The recipes are just as surprising as their origin. The raspberry is in fact related to the rose!

Are raspberries healthy?

If you're also an EAT ME raspberry fan, at least you're doing your health some serious favours. The fruit may be small in size, but the benefits for your body are enormous. Just like many other fruits, raspberries are rich in vitamin C. The positive properties attributed to vitamin C make for quite a long list. For example, it is the vitamin that ensures that your veins stay elastic. It helps your resistance during physical exertion, it is important for your gums and it activates the natural energy in your body.

And did you know that vitamin C is good for your learning performance, too? It improves you ability to concentrate. If you eat 100 grams of raspberries, that's 40% of the daily recommended amount of this essential vitamin right there. (Based on an average adult who needs 8100 kJ or 2000 kcal per day.)

Raspberries are low in calories

On the other hand, the small red fruits are very low in calories. 100 grams will only add 37 calories to your daily count. The dietary fibre that is very much present in raspberries is also good for you.

Surprising recipes with raspberries

EAT ME raspberries are tempting as a snack on the go. Feel free to enjoy them in this way, but also to make raspberries 'the star of the show' in a surprising recipe. A culinary appetiser that may just earn you a standing ovation from your guests, is a duck breast salad with raspberries. And together with another cheerful berry, the blueberry, you can turn a raspberry cheesecake into something completely different. And why not serve a raspberry cake for dessert to end your dinner in summer style?
